1. About This Policy
RouteMap ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Jason Reeve, based in Australia. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use the RouteMap mobile application ("the App").
We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy also addresses the requirements of the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) where applicable.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Location Data
When you grant location permission, the App accesses your device's GPS coordinates to:
- Centre the map on your current position
- Show nearby activities and routes
Location data is processed on-device only. We do not transmit or store your precise location on our servers.
2.2 Photos and Media
When you grant photo library permission, the App may:
- Save exported map images to your device's photo library
- Read images you choose to import
We do not upload your photos to any server.
2.3 Usage and Error Data
We may use Sentry (sentry.io) to collect anonymous crash reports and error logs when the App encounters a problem. This may include device type, operating system version, app version, and stack traces. No personal information is included in crash reports.
2.4 Purchase Information
If you purchase a premium subscription or lifetime access, transactions are processed by Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). We use RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) to manage entitlements. RevenueCat receives a randomised device identifier and purchase receipt to verify your subscription status. We do not receive or store your credit card details.
2.5 Map Data
The App uses the Google Maps SDK and Google Maps API (Google LLC). When the map is displayed, Google may collect data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We pass your device location to Google only to render the map tile you are viewing.
2.6 No Account Required
We do not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other identifying information unless you contact us directly.
3. How We Use Your Information
